MAKING YOU FEEL GREAT WHILE MAKING YOU LOOK GREAT!
This is something I can relate to with all of my clients. Getting in front of the camera is not something everyone can easily do. I’ve been recording movie reviews on Youtube for almost a decade now, and I’m still alittle uneasy at times.
So you don’t worry, you’re not alone. And that’s why you can trust me to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. While my priority is to take photos of you guys that are so good you are going to want to hang them on the wall, my other priority is that you are comfortable with me.
I also want you to have a fun time as well. That’s kind of important in the grand scheme of things 😂
How I go about this is I usually start our sessions with a conversation. This is on my dime first and foremost, because I don’t want to just jump right into the mix of things. Just like exercising, you’ve got to warm up. After general introductions, I explain how the shoot is going to go and then I ask if you guys have any requests. During that time, I’m getting a read on you guys so I know how to work with you better, and how to make the session as carefree of an experience as I can make it.
And then I get some tunes going, because having some music going on tends to work better than long, unending, awkward silence 😂
Once the session starts, then I’ll start getting the laughs going. Either with some corny jokes or with between the two of you.
You’d be surprised how funny it is when your significant other tries to whisper their favorite type of breakfast cereal into your ear!
Laughter is key. As Audrey Hepburn once said, Laughter “cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person”.
Did I mention I’m a bit of a film nerd? It will probably come up in conversation during our shoot so don’t worry.
And it’s that laughter that gets the moments I want to capture for you. The moments where you forget I’m there. The laughter, the love, and the joy. The candid moments that I strive for!
These are the moments I want most of all for my clients. Because they are the most natural reflection of who you are to yourself and to each other.
It might have helped that I was making some funny squee noises in the background. That tends to get a laugh 😂
TLDR?
I’m going to make you forget the camera is even there. I’m going to capture you guys in your most candid moments, and you might even learn a few movie trivia facts as well
